World Language Initiative- MT

The World Language Initiative (WLI) is excited to offer a “pay-what-you-can'' after-school German Language & Culture class to K-5 students hosted at Irving School, funded by SPARK for German and the Goethe Institut. Classes will be taught by Christina Crane along with a team of MSU German students. Please see Christina's bio and more about the SPARK for German program!

• These after-school German classes are being hosted by Irving Elementary; Registration opens Monday, January 17 for Irving families. Registration will be open to students outside of Irving’s district beginning Monday, January 24. Registration closes Thursday, January 27.
• Out of District families must be able to provide their own transportation to Irving School by 3:20.
• Class will take place as follows (beginning February 10th ): Thursdays, 3:20 - 4:20 PM.
• Classes run for 12 weeks (no class March 14th or April 7th).
• We are excited to offer this pay-what-you-can opportunity to families due to generous grant funding by Goethe Institut and their SPARK for German program. Because of this, parents are asked to make a firm commitment to having their child attend all 12 weeks of the program, to the extent possible.
• Small-group model of no more than 12 students.
• Classes need 6 students (minimum) in order to run. If a class does not reach at least 6 sign ups, the class will be cancelled and you will be notified & refunded.
• Your child’s Language Coach will email you 1 week prior to your class start date with more details and information.
• A snack time will be incorporated into the class plan: please provide an after-school snack for your child if possible.
• If you foresee any problems with picking your child up promptly at 4:20, please enroll in Irving’s After School Program so that your child can be released to that program after class.

Refund Policy: Between Monday, January 17 and Wednesday, January 25 you may receive a 50% REFUND. After Wednesday, January 25, NO REFUNDS will be made available.
